Abstract

|
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to find clinical approachment of Syringomyelia using oriental medical therapeutic methods.
Methods: In this case acupuncture stimulation, herbal medicine were used to relive headache, physical therapy to prevent muscle weakness in upper extremity as a treatment method. We used VAS(Visual Analog Scale) and measured grasping power.
Results: Patient¡¯s chief complain was headache and muscle weakness in upper extremity. After treatment, most symptoms decresed and VAS score changed from 8 to 2.
Conclusions: We experienced improvement of symptoms in this case by acupuncture stimulation, herbal medicine. And we hope this study is helpful for the treatment of Syringomyelia.
